Surfers of the North Shore
Today I was lucky enough to meet four surfers and get a start to a portrait series of surfers on the North Shore on what I consider to be the first real day of Spring in Massachusetts.

While vacationing in Aruba I met the incredible musicians Jemaima and Raphaela and we briefly took some portraits right off the beach. Fr. Spyridon Schneider, Orthodox Church of St. John the Russian
Today I visited with Father Spyridon at the Church of St John in Ipswich, MA. I had the pleasure of hearing his wonderful stories and how he started the church in the mid 1970's. It was also great to meet with Father Herman, take his portrait and learn a little about his life.
A friend, my godson, and a dog named Dexter
In all too brief visit with my friend Coke O'neal and my godson Mercury I started a series on the spaces that families live in and the area that surrounds them. I was also thrilled to meet Coke's neighbor Lynn and her dog Chappa. Lynn does amazing work rescuing and caring for bull dogs.

I was happy to spend another day at the Larcom Theater and get the chance to return to working with Richard Heath; the principal artist for Le Grand David at the Cabot Theater and an exceptional performer to boot. Retiring after 35 years of performing, Mr. Heath has been able to concentrate his time on his artistry.
Deborah & Dr. Watson, Cambridge
After a trip to the MIT Museum with my family and winding our way on Mass. Ave. for lunch I had the pleasure of meeting this pair and detouring from my group for a quick portrait. Dr. Watson had a recent ACL operation . . .
Dr. Theoharides
While on assignment for a medical magazine I learned that Dr. Theoharides is working on methods of getting children with autism to speak for the first time in their lives. An incredibly inspirational man to spend time with.
Donald Heller, Hurdy Gurdy with Mack the Knife
I've had the pleasure of meeting Donald a couple of times while traversing the streets of Boston. You can hear Europe reach across the Atlantic when he plays this unusual instrument. I will update this blog after I have the opportunity to do some portrait work . . .

KBMG at a church in Rockport, MA
When I listen to the lyrics and music of KBMG, I'm not sure if I'm in Massachusetts or walking on a dirt trail in my home state of Colorado—that's what their stories do for me. I was lucky to pull out the members (OK, I somehow missed the guitarist) for individual portraits before the show started. Putting the camera aside to enjoy the show and let the sweet sounds roll at a church in Rockport in the late fall . .
Professional Center for Child Development Portraits
This collage is from my third trip to the PCCD (Professional Center for Child Development) in Andover, MA. I have so much fun working with these kids. I think this statement from their website sums up their work nicely: "Our mission is to provide therapeutic and educational services for children of all abilities and their families, working with each child to develop to his or her full potential. We strive to eliminate barriers to growth and development for children with disabilities and families coping with health issues and challenges." I think they are pretty amazing.
